The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team moved to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8, as the Cardinals defeated host Hartwick College 65-48 on Friday. Four players finished in double-figures, including freshman Chris Baltz, who scored a career-high 20 points in 20 minutes of action, while knocking down six 3-pointers.
Fisher used a 13-2 run early in the first half, building a 10-point lead 11 minutes into the game and kept a double-digit lead for the entire second half.
Fifteen of Baltz’s career-high 20 points came in the first half, as the first-year player knocked down 5-of-6 shots from beyond the 3-point arc in just nine minutes of action.
Dan McSweeney finished with 16 points and snagged a team-high eight rebounds.
Dan Mueller added 11 points and four assists, while shooting 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
Junior
Isaiah Smalt shot 5-of-6 from the floor and finished with 11 points.
Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Utica College in a matchup of unbeaten teams in the Empire 8.
