The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team won its Empire 8 Conference season-opener, as the Cardinals picked up a 1-0 win in overtime at Elmira College on Saturday.

Freshman Mary Dougherty scored the game's only goal on a direct kick in the 107th minute for Fisher (5-2-1 overall, 1-0 Empire 8).
