The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team defeated visiting SUNY Fredonia 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Upstate Championship on Wednesday.
Fisher controlled the tempo of the game from the first whistle keeping the ball in the Fredoina zone for almost the entire game. By the end Fisher rallied off a total of 22 shots,13 of them on goal.
Sophmore Kelly Zeppetella scored the winning goal in the 195 minute of double overtime off a crossing pass by Junior Dani Davis.
Senior Stacey Gable played the first half making three saves while freshman Ashley Martin played the rest of the game making four saves.
Fisher returns to action this Saturday against William Smith College at 11 a.m. in the semi-finals of the ECAC Upstate Championship hosted at Skidmore College.
