Justin D’Amato returned to St. John Fisher in 2017 as an assistant coach after recently serving as an assistant/pitching coach at Finger Lakes Community College for the past two seasons where he aided in recruiting, pitching and hitting. 

One of the College’s most decorated players, D’Amato originally signed to play Division I baseball at Niagara University before transferring to Fisher to play under head coach Brandon Potter.  While at Fisher, D’Amato was named an All-American three times and was named Baseball America’s Division III Pitcher of the Year in 2013.  D’Amato set numerous program records during his tenure including all-time wins (36) and strikeouts (325).  D’Amato’s win total ranked ninth all-time in NCAA Division III history at the time while his strikeout total ranked 19th.   

D’Amato also played in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, the Coastal Plains League and the Northwoods League.  He won a PGCBL Championship with the Newark Pilots in 2011 and was named the 20th best pro prospect by the PGCBL as well.

D’Amato graduated from Canandaigua Academy High School in 2010 where he played three years of varsity baseball for Dale Werth.  He earned Fourth-Team All-State Honors for class AA and First-Team All Greater Rochester his senior year.
