St. John Fisher University Athletics

Miranda Lynch (Webster/Webster Thomas) of the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended February 9th, 2020. 

Lynch and the Cardinals played Hartwick on Saturday in a key Empire 8 matchup where the sophomore would put up 19 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field. The Webster native would make both free throws to put away the Hawks, 73-69. Fisher then took on Elmira Sunday in which Lynch had 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while also grabbing seven rebounds along with two steals. Fisher won in comfortable fashion 76-47 but most importantly clinched a berth into the Empire 8 postseason tournament.  

The Cardinals head into this week atop of the conference standings with a one game lead on the Sage Colleges. The Gators and Fisher will face off on Valentine’s Day with tip off set for 7:30 p.m.
