St. John Fisher University Athletics

Ivan Lopez (San Juan, PR/San Ignacio) of the St. John Fisher College men's volleyball team has been named the College's Male Athlete of the Week after helpling push the Cardinals' winning streak to eight matches over this past week. 

Lopez had a monster week for the Cardinals totaling 20 blocks,16 kills,and an average hitting percentage of .438 in 10 total sets.
 
The San Juan, Puerto Rico native set a new program last week versus Wells as the freshman finished with 10 blocks in three-set match,which broke the previous program record for total blocks in one match. Along with his blocking performance,Lopez tallied six kills,only one error,and a .625 hitting percentage. 
 
Over this past weekend, Lopez added another six blocks and seven kills in the four-set victory over Adrian College. He then finished up the week with a four block and three kill performance in the Cardinals’ straight set win over Penn State Behrend. 

The Cardinals return to action on Sunday at 12 p.m. when they travel to Buffalo to take on D'Youville College followed by Medaille College at 2 p.m.
