Antony Mantova (Colonie/Albany, N.Y.) of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week which concluded on March 12, 2017.

Mantova helped lead the No. 9 Cardinals to four wins at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational including victories over nationally-ranked Otterbein and Marietta.

In his six games played, Mantova went 10-for-17 (.588) from the plate, hitting two doubles and smacking one homer. In a game against Suffolk on Friday, Mantova made it on base in all five of his at-bats after notching three singles, a hit-by-pitch by a pitch and a walk. The freshman also collected four RBI on the week, while crossing the plate three times himself. In the outfield, Mantova was flawless as he recorded nine putouts and a fielding percentage of 1.000.

Mantova and the rest of the team will face off against Haverford College in a doubleheader at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in Haverford, Pa.
