St. John Fisher University Athletics

Brennen Thompson (Herkimer/Herkimer) of the St. John Fisher College football team has been named the College's Male Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended October 14, 2018.

Thompson played an integral part in the Cardinals' defensive efforts on Saturday as the team defeated visiting Hartwick College, 42-14, behind six takeaways.

Thompson accounted for two of those takeaways as the Herkimer native had two interceptions - one of which was returned 52 yards to the Hawks' 1-yard line before he was dragged down.   

Thompson, who played every series on Saturday, also added two tackles in the win.
