Sarah Kubik (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College softball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after guiding the No. 11 Cardinals to a sweep of Houghton College during the week, which concluded April 8, 2018.
Kubik was a monster at the dish after going 6-for-8 with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored overall as Fisher moved to 12-6 on the season and 2-0 in the conference standings.

In the opening game, Kubik was 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored before adding two more doubles, three runs scored and another RBI in the nightcap.Â
Softball is scheduled to return to the field at 3 p.m. on Tuesday when it hosts SUNY Cortland in a non-conference doubleheader at the Softball Complex. Last season, Fisher defeated Cortland in a best-of-three series to win its second consecutive NCAA Super Regional Title.
