Paul Hackford (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) of the St. John Fisher College men’s volleyball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 18^th, 2018.
 
Hackford led the way from the setter position over the past week with two great all-around performances. The Cardinals finished the week 2-0 with two straight set victories over Hiram College and Baruch College at the inaugural Fisher Invite.
 
In the win over Hiram, the freshman finished with a game-high 28 assists, while also adding two kills, one service ace, and three blocks. As a team, the Cardinals finished the match with a .267 hitting percentage.
 
Versus Baruch, Hackford topped his game-high from the previous day finishing with 39 assists in the three set victory. The Orchard Park native also notched four kills, five digs, and three blocks, while the Cardinals finished with a .297 hitting percentage in the match.
 
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday when the team hits Elmira for a United Volleyball Conference matchup at 4 p.m. on Bobby Wanzer Court.
