St. John Fisher University Athletics

Kaili Saffran (Webster/Webster Thomas) of the St. John Fisher College women's tennis team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Cardinals to two consecutive wins last week including a 7-2 decision over Hartwick College in Empire 8 action.

Saffran posted four wins overall last week including two at first singles and another pair at first doubles. 

Against Cortland, Saffran posted a 6-2, 6-0 decision before teaming up for an 8-2 win in double play.  The freshman followed that performance up with a come-from-behind win at first singles against Hartwick and an 8-4 win in doubles competition. 

Saffran and the rest of the women’s tennis team will return to the court at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday as they travel to Utica for another Empire 8 match.
