Malcolm Kelsey (Rutgers Preparatory/Piscataway, N.J.) of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after helping guide Fisher to five wins last week.

Kelsey, who played in all five games, combined to go 9-for-17 (.529) at the plate with eight RBI, five runs scored, a double and a triple.

Against Houghton College on Friday, the senior outfielder went 1-for-3 with an RBI before putting up four more hits and four more RBI on Saturday as the Cardinals completed the sweep of the Highlanders.

On Sunday, Kelsey had three hits in five at-bats including a double.  He also had three RBI as the Cardinals set a program record for consecutive wins with their 15th straight victory.

No. 18 baseball returns to the diamond at 1 p.m. on Wednesday when it hosts Elmira in an Empire 8 doubleheader at Dugan Yard.
