St. John Fisher University Athletics

Jessica Rhone of the women’s basketball team has been named the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 8^th, 2017.

Rhone had an impressive week as she led the Cardinals in points and assists over the four-game stretch.

In the week’s first game against Swarthmore, the junior recorded 13 points to tie her career high, which she set last season. She then tied it once more, with 13 against Houghton on Friday. Rhone would go on to eclipsed her career high with a 20-point performance in the team’s Empire 8 victory over Alfred University.

The Penn Yan native also dominated the paint for the Cardinals. Aside from the Gettysburg game in which she only played three minutes, Rhone collected nine rebounds in every other contest. She also contributed three steals and two blocks on the defensive end of the floor.

Fisher continues its conference play with a pair of E8 matchups this week. The team will square off against Elmira College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday on Bobby Wanzer Court before hosting Ithaca College at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
