St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Peter Girardi of the men’s track and field team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 24^th, 2016.

Girardi was selected as the track athlete of the meet at the Empire 8 Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Houghton College. The sophomore was also the winner of this week’s Empire 8 Male Track Athlete of the Week.

Girardi collected over 20 points on the day. He managed to set a new Fisher record in the 110-meter hurdles yet again this season, winning the event with a time of 14.55. His time is currently the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division III. He also won the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 52.95, and was a runner in the 4X100 relay team which also set a new Fisher record at the meet.

Fisher will host the Cardinal Classic on Saturday at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex.
