St. John Fisher College’s Mary Kate Cusack of the women’s basketball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of Week for the week ending January 10rd, 2016.
Cusack guided the Fisher women in the Empire 8 Conference wins against Elmira College and Houghton College on Friday and Saturday.
In the Friday match against Elmira the stat sheet was highlighted with her 13 points, five assists, six rebounds, and four steals.
On Saturday, she scored a team high 20 points, and put up two assists and two steals. Cusack leads the Empire 8 Conference in steals with 44, 22 more than any other player. She also lands sixth overall in points with 167, and eighth in assists with 27.
The Cardinals are now 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Fisher looks to carry that momentum into Tuesday’s game at 8 p.m. when it hosts Alfred University in the first home conference matchup of the season.
