St. John Fisher College’s Danielle Famolaro of the field hockey team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of Week for the week ending September 13th, 2015.
Famolaro, also named the Empire 8 Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, helped lead her team to a 3-1 win over Stevens. The senior faced 19 shots and notched 12 saves, tying her season high.
On the season, Famolaro is currently in second place in the Empire 8 for saves, with 33 over the course of four games.
Fisher is now 3-1 on the season and enters its next contest 1-0 in the Empire 8 Conference.
The Cardinals return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday for a non-conference game at SUNY Cortland.
