        Taylor Hughes (Watertown/Watertown), of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women’s lacrosse team has been named Fisher’s Female Athlete of the Week for action concluding on May 11, 2014.
        Hughes, the reigning Empire 8 Player of Year, notched a game-high five goals in Fisher’s 13-12 loss to host York College in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship Saturday.
        Fisher led for the entire contest until the Spartans took their first lead of the game with 1:22 remaining which would prove to be the final goal of the game.
Hughes finishes the 2014 season with 49 goals and 15 assists.
        The most decorated player in women’s lacrosse program history closes out her illustrious career as the all-time leader in goals (217), assists (87), and points (304).
        Hughes, who was a three-time Empire 8 First Team selection, set the College record for points in a season during her sophomore campaign in which she compiled 102 points on 72 goals and 30 assists.
