Joe D’Agostino (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) of the St. John Fisher College men’s track and field team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2014.
At the Empire 8 Conference Championships on Saturday, held at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex, D’Agostino set multiple school records en route to a championship performance.
He won the 200-meter dash, setting a new Fisher record with a time of 22.40 seconds to capture the Empire 8 title. The sophomore narrowly missed also winning the 100-meter dash, finishing second after setting a school record with a time of 10.68 seconds in the semifinal round.
He was also a member of Fisher’s 4x100 meter relay team which placed fourth.
D’Agostino and the rest of Fisher track and field will return to action this Saturday in the Golden Eagle Invitational held at The College at Brockport. On May 2nd and 3rd, Fisher will host the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships.
