Sean Preish (Rochester/Aquinas) of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College football team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 24, 2013.

Preish made his presence felt on the Cardinals defense in a 25-16 win over ninth-ranked John Carroll University in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship on Saturday. The Cardinals held John Carroll to its lowest point total of the season.

The junior had 21 total tackles in the game which fell just two shy of the Fisher single game record. He also recovered a fumble in the first quarter and totaled two tackles for a loss.

The Fisher defense came up with six turnovers on the day and played a huge role in the Cardinals overcoming an early 13-0 deficit.

On the season, Preish leads the team in total tackles (110), tackles for a loss (14) and sacks (seven).
With the win, Fisher improves to 9-2 overall and advances to the second round of 2013 NCAA Division III Football Championship. Fisher will travel to Hobart College for a 12 p.m. kickoff Saturday at Boswell Field.
