St. John Fisher College has named Megan Gee (Arkport/Dansville) of the women’s soccer team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 27, 2009.

On Saturday, Fisher traveled to Oneonta to take on conference rival Hartwick in the second of its Empire 8 match-ups.  Gee tallied her first goal of the game off a rebound to put the Cardinals up 2-0 during the 48th minute of play.  The Hawks fought back to a tie with two goals in the last 15 minutes, forcing overtime, but Gee recorded the game-winner, her second of the season, in the second session of overtime to give the Cardinals the conference win.

Gee currently ranks fifth in the conference with 14 points, and She is tied for third in the Empire 8 with seven goals.

The Cardinals (3-5-1 overall, 2-1 Empire 8) will continue their pursuit for an Empire 8 Championship as they travel to Elmira College on Saturday.
