St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Mike Rynerson of the baseball team has been named as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 24, 2013.

Rynerson led Fisher to a 6-1 win over the weekend at Neumann University.  The junior pitcher pitched all seven innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out a career-high six batters.

It was Rynerson’s first career start and marked his first win at the collegiate level.

For the season, the right-hander has appeared in 14.2 innings, allowed 11 hits (nine singles) and struck out 14, while maintaining a 1.84 earned run average.

Fisher (8-5) is scheduled to return to action at 3 p.m. on Tuesday and host The College at Brockport.
