St. John Fisher College’s Meghan Soja (Whitesboro/Whitesboro) of the women’s basketball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 11, 2011.

In Fisher’s lone game of the week, Soja recorded a team-high 18 points, as the Cardinals fell to Rochester Institute of Technology 67-60 in overtime.  The senior also finished with eight rebounds and five steals, tying her career high in the takeaway column.  Soja also recorded five steals in just the second game this season against Marywood University.  The point total was just one shy of the forward’s career high, as she scored 19 points last season at Elmira College. 

Fisher (3-5) will return to action on December 30th when it travels to face Washington College at 4 p.m. in the Catholic University Tournament.
