St. John Fisher College’s Taylor Parker (East Rochester/East Rochester), a freshman on the field hockey team, has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2011.
Fisher, with help from Parker, finished the week 1-1 after earning its second victory in its inaugural season when it defeated SUNY Morrisville 3-1 on Wednesday night at Growney Stadium.
Individually, Parker scored goals in the 22nd and 64th minutes in Fisher’s victory over SUNY Morrisville. She also tied for the team lead in shots taken for the week with six after taking five shots against Morrisville and one shot against Utica College in a 2-0 loss on Saturday in the team’s final game of the season.
Parker finished the season with a team-leading three assists and tied for third in goals scored with two.
The Cardinals finished their inaugural season with a record of 2-15 and will return to action next fall.
