St. John Fisher College’s Becca Smith (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) of the volleyball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 18, 2011.

During a 3-2 week for the Cardinals, Smith propelled herself into the Fisher all-time Top 10, now boasting 1,049 kills in her career.

In five contests this week, Smith recorded 70 kills and led her team in the category four times, including 21 against St. Lawrence University on Saturday.  She also recorded 74 digs on the week, including a team-high 24 Saturday versus SUNY Geneseo.

The senior also contributed 13 service aces.

The Cardinals are now 7-3 on the season, and return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when they travel to Buffalo to face Medaille College.
