St. John Fisher College’s Chris Roeder of the baseball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 15, 2011.

The freshman batted .364 in a three-game week for the Cardinals, going 4-for-11 from the plate and driving in four runs. Roeder started all three games at shortstop, recording seven put outs and five assists with no errors.

In a 14-10 loss to Penn State-Behrend on Tuesday, Roeder went 1-for-4 with two RBI. In an 0-2 weekend at Alvernia in Reading, Pa., the Victor native recorded a team-best three hits in seven at bats, driving in two runs.

Fisher, who won the Empire 8 Conference for the second straight year, ends the 2011 season with a 25-10 overall record.
