St. John Fisher College has selected #Mike Craig#
of the baseball team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 2, 2010.
In a 5-1 week for the Cardinals (26-11 overall, 11-3 Empire 8), Craig picked up two wins on the mound. The senior pitcher allowed one earned run in both games (1.29 earned run average), while striking out nine batters.
Craig started the week off by posting a 10-2 win over visiting University of Rochester. The right-hander scattered eight hits and didn’t walk a batter, while fanning two batters over seven innings.
On Sunday, Craig pitched all seven innings in Fisher’s 5-1 win at Utica College. He allowed seven hits (all singles) and two walks, while striking out seven batters.
For the season, Craig has a perfect 3-0 record and a 3.51 ERA. He ranks second on the team with 35 strikeouts in 41 innings of action.
Fisher will return to action at 3 p.m. on Tuesday with a nine-inning game at Medaille College and will host a doubleheader vs. Ithaca College on Wednesday.
