St. John Fisher College has named Ashley Fenyn (Newark/Newark) of the women’s lacrosse team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 4, 2010.
In a 1-1 week for the Cardinals, Fenyn tallied 10 points on six goals and four assists, while winning four draws.
The senior midfielder started the week off by collecting a career-high eight points in Fisher’s 19-8 win over visiting Elmira College on Friday. Fenyn finished the game with four goals and four assists. She was a perfect 3-for-3 on free position shots and totaled two draw controls.
On Saturday, Fenyn finished with two goals and two draw controls, but it wasn’t enough, as the Bombers rallied to score the game’s final three goals and defeated the host Cardinals, 14-13.
For the season, Fenyn has started in all seven games and ranks second on the team in points with 23 on 17 goals and six assists.
Fisher (1-6 overall, 1-1 Empire 8) will return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Nazareth College.
