St. John Fisher College has named #Kristi Bradley# of the softball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the week for the week ending April 12, 2009.
In a 4-2 week for the Cardinals, Bradley went 9-for-14 (.474) while hitting in nine runs and scoring another three. The third baseman finished the week with no errors, just one strikeout, two doubles and a .579 slugging percentage.
The senior turned it on over the final four games of the week. At Ithaca on Friday, Bradley went 4-for-4 from the plate with three RBI and two runs scored to push the Cardinals to a 15-14 victory. With the win, Fisher snapped the Bomber’s 38-game regular season conference win streak, the longest such streak for any sport in Empire 8 history.
On Saturday, Fisher played its fifth and sixth away game in just three days but managed to sweep the Utica College Pioneers. Bradley paced the Cardinals in the two games, going a combined 4-for-6, including a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI in the nightcap.
For the season, Bradley leads the team in hits and RBI while being third-best in batting average at .403. The Cardinals will continue their road trip at 3 p.m. Wednesday versus Keuka College.
