St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College has named #Adam Durst# of the men’s soccer team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 9, 2008. 

Durst was honored for his efforts against the Ithaca Bombers in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Championship.

Durst recorded a game high five saves in a 1-0 loss. Ithaca scored the game’s only goal in the 29^th minute when Hiroshi Torii headed a pass from Jason Kaufman into the net. The loss ended Fisher’s season. The Cardinals will look to next year for its sixth postseason appearance in the last seven years. 

For the season, Durst finished with 94 saves (3^rd in the Empire 8) on a 74% save percentage (4^th in the Empire 8) while starting in all 17 games for the Cardinals. Durst also recorded four shutouts on the year (T-4^th in the Empire 8) while averaging 5.53 saves per game (3^rd in the Empire 8). Although the Cardinals will have to replace six seniors Durst will return for his senior year in the fall with other key returning players #Luke Lennox# and #Andrew McIntosh#.
 

Fisher finished the season with a 5-9-3 record and advanced to the postseason for the fifth time in the last six years.
