St. John Fisher College has named #Joelle Sacheli# of the women’s golf team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 21, 2008.

Sacheli, a sophomore, led the Cardinals to an eighth place finish in the Mercyhurst College Invitational in Erie, PA over the weekend, ahead of two NCAA Division II schools. With a two-round total of 164 (+20), including an opening-day 80, Sacheli was also the Cardinals’ top finisher in the individual standings with an eighth place finish.

In three tournaments this season, Sacheli has earned two top 10 finishes, including a third place finish in the St. Lawrence Invitational to open the year. Sacheli fired a season-low 79 in the opening round at St. Lawrence, and carded an 80 on the first day at the Mercyhurst Invitational that propelled her to eighth place honors in the solo standings.

Fisher will return to action October 5 to begin play in the Nazareth College Tournament.
