St. John Fisher College has named junior #Katie Barlow# of the women’s tennis team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending August 1, 2008.

Barlow paced the team to a second place finish in the RPI Invitational hosted by the Engineers to open the season. The Engineers captured six out of nine possible points and claimed the top spot, while the Cardinals earned two points and came in second. Hartwick College, third team in the tournament, earned one point and finished in third place.

Barlow was instrumental in both of the Cardinals’ points, as she won her match at third singles, and teamed with junior #Laura Hale# for another win in doubles action.

Fisher will return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday to take on host SUNY Oswego.
