Geoff Grambo was promoted to associate head coach in July 2018 after serving a an assistant coach since 2011. In that span, the Lyons native has helped build the Cardinals into one of the premier track and field programs in the nation after the men’s squad won six individual national championships in the last five years and finished tied for seventh place overall at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in both 2018 and 2019.
With Grambo on the coaching staff, Fisher was once again recognized by the Empire 8 as its Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022 after the Cardinals claimed the conference's Indoor Track and Field Championship on the men's and swept both the indoor and outdoor titles on the women's side.
“Coach Grambo has excelled in his role as assistant coach for throws and we are very excited to welcome his promotion to associate head coach for our track and cross country teams,” commented head coach Mike Henchen who was named the Empire 8 Coach of the Year during both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons this year. “He not only brings a tremendous amount of coaching expertise to the position, but also a fresh perspective that I’m sure will contribute to our teams reaching even higher levels of success.”
Since joining the program, Grambo has overseen the development of numerous student-athletes who have been named All-Conference. Over the last eight seasons, Grambo has coached nearly 50 All-Conference selections in all. Additionally, he has coached two Cardinals that qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship with Kyle Koehler earning All-American honors in 2016 after finishing seventh in the shot put.
Prior to his time at Fisher, Grambo broke into the coaching field as a graduate assistant throws coach at William Woods University (MO) from 2008-10 while earning his MBA.
A native of Lyons, Grambo graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2008 with a degree in History and a minor in Exercise Science. He led the Saints track and field team in shot put as a four-time Liberty League champion, two-time New York State champion, one-time ECAC champion and was named as an NCAA Division III All-American Award Recipient during his senior year. Grambo still holds the St. Lawrence University shot put record.
