Brianna Harzula joined St. John Fisher University’s athletic department as a part-time athletic communications assistant in August 2025. In her role, she assists with the department's sports information operations, contributing to in-game statistics coverage, writing postgame recaps, managing digital content and supporting social media and website updates. She plays an active role in the execution of game-day responsibilities across multiple varsity sports, ensuring accurate coverage and a smooth experience for fans, media and student-athletes.
Before joining Fisher, Harzula served as an athletics communications graduate assistant at American International College in Springfield, Mass. While at AIC, she provided live statistical input for a variety of NCAA Division II home contests using platforms such as NCAA Live Stats and PrestoStats. She also supported media relations efforts by producing written content such as game notes and recaps, while contributing to digital and social media strategies designed to elevate the visibility of AIC’s athletic programs.
In the fall of 2023, Harzula completed an internship with the Springfield Ballers, a nonprofit AAU basketball organization. During her time with the Ballers, she supported the planning and execution of the Ballers Ball, the organization’s annual fundraising event. Her responsibilities included tracking ticket sales, compiling weekly reporting updates for the board of directors, promoting them event through email and social media and assisting with day-of logistics and guest services.
Harzula’s interest in sports communications is grounded in her experience as a former student, having played collegiate softball at AIC. Her time on the field gives her a unique perspective on the value of storytelling and effective communication in college athletics. She is passionate about using her skills to enhance student-athlete visibility and build a strong connection between teams and their communities.
Originally from Bernardsville, New Jersey, Harzula earned her bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management with a minor in communications and public relations from American International College. She completed her master’s degree in business administration at American International College in 2025.
