Andrea Gillespie returns to the St. John Fisher College volleyball program in 2014 as an assistant coach, specializing in defensive players and recruitment.
Gillespie graduated from St. John Fisher in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in business management/human resource management.
Gillespie spent four years on Fisher’s volleyball team, serving as the team captain in 2012 and 2013. As the starting libero in her junior and senior years, she led the team in digs.
Throughout her time at Fisher, Gillespie also excelled in the classroom. She garnered the SJFC Student-Athlete Award in 2012 for the top grade point average on the team with a 4.0. Gillespie was also honored with the Community Champion Award in 2014 for completing at least 800 hours of community service while in college.
The Webster, N.Y. native was a three-year member of the varsity volleyball team at Webster Schroeder High School that won the Monroe County Division I Championship in 2008.
Gillespie works full-time at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield while residing in Rochester, N.Y.
