St. John Fisher University Athletics

Doug Tay

Head coach Molly Romano announced the addition of Doug Tay as an assistant coach in October 2020.

Tay comes to Fisher after having served as the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Finger Lakes Community College since 2018.  While at FLCC, Tay, who brings over a decade of experience to campus, was directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of both programs while overseeing all recruiting efforts.

Tay, who will oversee the Cardinals’ junior varsity program, helped lead Finger Lakes to two postseason appearances in his tenure and would go on to earn Mid-State Coach of the Year honors in 2018 and again in 2019.

Tay, who graduated from The College at Brockport with a degree in Sport Management and would go on to earn a Master’s Degree from Canisius in Sport Administration, also has a wealth of experience coaching at the club level after serving as head coach for Rush Premier Soccer Club and as the assistant director of coaching for Clarence Soccer Club.
