St. John Fisher University Athletics

Tristan Dougherty

Tristan "Doc" Dougherty joined the St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team in 2020 and helped to lead the team to an Empire 8 Championship and an NCAA berth in his first season on the sidelines.

Dougherty works directly with the Cardinals' defense and goalies and has been an integral part of the team's strength and conditioning program as well as its recruiting efforts.

Dougherty comes to Fisher having served in the same capacity at Plattsburgh State in 2020 where he helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-2 record before the season was cut short due to the pandemic.  Prior to his time in the North Country, Dougherty played four years at Division I Hobart College where he helped lead the Statesmen to a Northeast Conference Championship in 2016 and an appearance in the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship – the team's first in its history.

In 2017, Hobart claimed the NEC Regular Season title with a 5-1 mark in conference play before falling in the title game by one goal.

Dougherty, a four-year letter-winner for the Statesmen, appeared in 12 games in his career and made 35 stops in all.
