High School: Earned her team Spirit Award in cross country and track and field in 2025… earned Second-Team All-League status in the pole vault in 2025… named a scholar athlete in 2022… was an AP Scholar during the 2024-2025 academic year. 

Personal: Kate is the daughter of Karen Sheard and Daniel DeFio… dual-majoring in English literature and accounting… she has three siblings, Luke, John and Ella… brother Luke graduated from Fisher in 2024 and was a member of the track and field team.

Fun Fact: She attends youth group every week and also does theater… before races, she likes to listen to music.
