PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher freshman pitcher Justin Christensen, senior pitcher Ethan Fulton and senior outfielder Noah Pohrte have been named to the All-Tournament Team for the 2026 Empire 8 Conference Baseball Championship.
Additionally, senior Jake Crantz received the Empire 8 Torchbearer Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating in the championship game for each E8 sport. To be eligible for the Empire 8 Torchbearer Award, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior and in at least their second season of competition with their current team. Crantz, an accounting and finance major, holds a 3.89 GPA.
Christensen was dominant in his tournament outing, throwing seven innings of shutout baseball in the Cardinals' 3-0 win over SUNY Brockport. The South Glens Falls native struck out six batters, walked only one, and held Brockport to just three hits across his seven frames.
Fulton delivered a standout performance in an elimination game, throwing a complete game in the Cardinals' 3-1 victory to keep their tournament hopes alive. The Trumansburg native allowed only five hits and two walks while going the distance in what proved to be a dominant final appearance of his career.
Pohrte anchored center field for the Cardinals throughout the tournament, appearing in all five games and making a series of standout defensive plays over the course of the weekend. The Williamsville North product also contributed at the plate, going 4-for-17 with two RBI during tournament play.
