Players To Watch
Sean Donaldson (Jr., M) – Donaldson enters the championship game tied for the team lead with 41 goals and has 54 total points, both of which mark career highs. He has found the back of the cage multiple times in all but five of the Cardinals’ 18 contests and surpassed 100 collegiate points earlier in the season. Donaldson was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association (USILA) Team of the Week after scoring four goals and recording an assist in a 10-8 victory over then-No. 19 Cortland on March 21.
Lane Edinger (Sr., M) – Edinger has enjoyed a breakout senior season for the Cardinals, as he has set career highs in all three major offensive categories with a team-leading 60 total points on 41 goals and 19 assists. He had the best game of his collegiate career in a 24-7 victory over Hartwick this past Saturday, tallying seven points with five goals and a pair of assists. Edinger earned a spot on the USILA Team of the Week for Week 8 of the season after piling up 10 points on seven goals and three assists over the Cardinals’ games against Utica and Alfred. He had four goals and two assists in a win over Utica and three goals and an assist in a win over Alfred.
Scott Bovard (Jr., A) – Bovard has also set career highs across the board offensively with 58 total points on 38 goals and 20 assists. He’s tallied four or more points in seven games this season, most recently in a 24-7 win over Hartwick last weekend, when he had five points on four goals and an assist. Bovard erupted for nine points, tied for the third-most by a Fisher player in a game, on five goals and four assists in a 24-8 win over Rhodes on March 6. Four games after that, in a 29-2 win over Russell Sage, he scored five goals and set up three others for eight points.
Grady Swidersky (Fr., A) – One of the top freshmen in the Empire 8, Swidersky has 53 total points on 18 goals and a team-leading 35 assists, the seventh most by a Fisher player in a season. He entered the postseason having amassed 17 total points on five goals and 12 assists over the Cardinals’ last two regular-season games. Swidersky had three goals and five assists for eight points in a 30-1 victory over Keuka and nine points with a pair of goals and seven assists against Hartwick.
Jonah Vormwald (Fr., FO) – Vormwald has been one of the best faceoff specialists in Division III during his rookie season, boasting a .731 winning percentage (220 wins in 302 attempts), the seventh-best mark in the country. He has also recovered a team-high 160 ground balls.
Tyler Manning (Sr., GK) – A preseason All-American, Manning currently stands ninth in Division III in goals against average (7.83) and 26th in save percentage (.590). He has played and started in each of Fisher’s 18 games.
