PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior forward Madelyn Wania scored two goals to lead the St. John Fisher women's soccer team (1-1-0) to a 3-0 victory over Buffalo State (1-2-0) in its home opener on Wednesday night at Growney Stadium.

It took the Cardinals just 40 seconds to get on the board, as sophomore forward Emily Woolingham netted the Cardinals' first goal of the 2025 season on an assist from Jackie Gervais, who centered a pass from the right side.

Wania buried a shot in the top left corner to make the score 2-0 nearly 20 minutes into the second half. She added her second goal of the game in the final minutes of the contest on an assist from freshman forward Abigail Devine.

Junior goalkeeper Sofia Pantoja made three saves in the shutout victory. Buffalo State attempted just seven shots overall.
