VICTOR, NY. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team started its season 1-0 with a hard-fought 9-7 victory over Haverford College on Saturday afternoon at the Pinnacle Athletic Campus and Events Center. The Cardinals used a dominant fourth quarter to secure the win, outscoring Haverford College 3-0 in the closing period.
How It Happened

Haverford jumped out to an early lead, going up 3-2 after the first quarter. Fisher stayed within striking distance, with Nick Hauman and Braeden McNeill each finding the back of the net.

The teams continued to trade goals in the second and third quarters, with JP Revitte, Lane Edinger and Brady Mason scoring for the Cardinals.

Haverford College held a 7-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Fisher took control down the stretch. Jordan Leuze tied the game early in the final period, setting up a game-changing moment from Ethan Hodge. With Fisher man-down, Hodge caused a turnover, scooped up the ground ball and sprinted the length of the field before burying the go-ahead goal to put the Cardinals ahead 8-7.

Ethan Kesselring added an insurance goal at 8:13, while Fisher's defense locked down Haverford the rest of the way to secure the win.
