Late Surge Lifts Fisher Over Haverford College in Season Opener

VICTOR, NY. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team started its season 1-0 with a hard-fought 9-7 victory over Haverford College on Saturday afternoon at the Pinnacle Athletic Campus and Events Center. The Cardinals used a dominant fourth quarter to secure the win, outscoring Haverford College 3-0 in the closing period.

How It Happened

  • Haverford jumped out to an early lead, going up 3-2 after the first quarter. Fisher stayed within striking distance, with Nick Hauman and Braeden McNeill each finding the back of the net.

  • The teams continued to trade goals in the second and third quarters, with JP Revitte, Lane Edinger and Brady Mason scoring for the Cardinals.

  • Haverford College held a 7-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Fisher took control down the stretch. Jordan Leuze tied the game early in the final period, setting up a game-changing moment from Ethan Hodge. With Fisher man-down, Hodge caused a turnover, scooped up the ground ball and sprinted the length of the field before burying the go-ahead goal to put the Cardinals ahead 8-7.
