Michalski Drops 18 As Men's Basketball Starts Weekend With Win Over Norwich

CASTLETON, VT. – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team improved to 2–2 on the season with a 65–60 victory over Norwich University on Friday night at Glenbrook Gymnasium in the opening day of the Vermont State Castleton Showcase.

How It Happened
Fisher trailed 35–31 at halftime before taking control in the second half, outscoring Norwich 34–25 over the final 20 minutes. The Cardinals opened the second half with an 11–4 run to grab the lead and later closed the game with a decisive 9–2 stretch to secure the win.

Maximus Michalski set the tone with a career-high 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting and added eight rebounds. Max Schneider knocked down four three-pointers on his way to 13 points, while also finishing with six assists and three steals. Off the bench, Mekhi Gidney delivered 10 points and seven rebounds, helping Fisher generate opportunities and maintain momentum during key stretches.

Defensively, Fisher held Norwich to 36% shooting and forced 16 turnovers, converting them into 22 points.
