GENEVA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team fell to William Smith College in its season opener on Friday, as a late rally came up short in a 4-2 defeat.
Both of the Cardinals' scores came in the third quarter. Early in the 39th minute of the game and trailing 3-0, junior

Molly Fisher in the game, a team-high.
Less than a minute later, Cooper narrowed William Smith's lead to one, scoring unassisted to move the score to 3-2.
The Herons scored a late insurance goal for the final 4-2 score.
The Cardinals were outshot 37-11 on the day. Senior
