PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team is adding a new Assistant Coach to their staff as they look to build on a season where they won the Empire 8 Championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach, Dave Dobbins, and the Cardinals Athletic Department, welcome's Cash Lawson to the staff to help the team continue its success on the field.

Lawson will bring experience from two different locations, having served as an Assistant Coach at Hartwick College for two years and a Graduate Assistant Coach at Clarkson University for two years as well. While with the Hawks, the Hilton, NY native helped the team earn All-Conference recognition, while leading the year-round recruiting process. Off the field, the team consistently saw an increase in their GPA with Lawson running the team study halls.

"We couldn't be more excited to be adding Coach Lawson to our staff," said coach Dobbins.

"He brings a wealth of experience to our program and will be taking on a large role in recruiting efforts and the development of our defense," Dobbins added.

Lawson played lacrosse collegiately at Wells College as a defender and midfielder. A team captain for the 2018 season, he was a 3rd Team All-Conference recognition from the North Eastern Athletic Conference in 2017 and 2019, and was named the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player in 2017 and 2018.

"We are fortunate to bring someone on with his type of knowledge, work ethic and experience," Dobbins emphasized.

Lawson earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in economics from Wells in 2019, and was awarded a Master's in Business Administration from Clarkson in May 2021.
