HARRISBURG, PA – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team ended the weekend with a contest against Penn State Harrisburg. The Cardinals dropped the close battle be a final score of 79-71 and see the record go to 1-2.
 
Connor Recore began the scoring with a good jump shot and the two teams began their battle, exchanging leads five times and seeing the score tied six times. Key makes by

Cole Thompson helped keep the team in front throughout the first half, but it was Penn State that held a 35-34 advantage at the break.
 
At the start of the second-half, Penn State began to pull away, but a pair of jump shots by 
Brendan McRoy helped keep the deficit at just one-point. With 13:23 to play, Foley knocked down a three-pointer to put the team up 45-43, and the Cardinals maintained a lead, until the 8:17 mark when the score was even at 52-52. Fisher was unable to reclaim an advantage and fell by a final score of 79-71.
 
McRoy finished the day with 22 points on 7-for-14 from the field and 7-for-10 from the free-throw line. Recore tallied 12 points and six rebounds, and Cook was the third Cardinal with double-digit scoring, recording 10 points to go with five rebounds and three assists.
 
Up next is the Crosstown Shootout, where the Cardinals will host the University of Rochester, Nazareth University and RIT. Fisher will take on RIT on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m.
