Q. Why did you choose to attend Fisher?
A. I chose St. John Fisher due to the excellent academic reputation, small class sizes on such a beautiful campus.
Q. Please briefly describe your current position or career path.
A. My career path really started with student teaching. I completed student teaching on a Friday afternoon in December around 3 p.m. and received my first job offer later that day. So essentially my graduation date in January of 1997 coincided with the start of my professional career.
Q. How did your time at Fisher influence your life since graduation?
A. My time at Fisher had a significant impact on me personally and professionally. I do not think that my success would have been possible without the experiences that St John Fisher provided me as a student-athlete.
Q. What is your favorite memory of playing at Fisher?
A. There are so many memories from my time playing at Fisher, whether it was the local rivalries with Hobart, Brockport and Alfred or if it was traveling out of state to play schools like Catholic University. They are all great. Do I find myself reminiscing and reliving my time running down the field on the kickoff team? I do!
Q. Did anyone have a profound impact on you while at Fisher either academically or athletically?
A. There were so many teammates, coaches, classmates and professors who made my time at Fisher enjoyable, however, people such as Coach Vosburgh, Dr. Larry Pound, Christine Hogan, Father Michael Costanzo, Margie Murphy and Gary Mervis really stand out to me. That collective group of individuals believed in me and challenged me at times when I may not have always believed in myself. The role they played and the significance in my life personally and professionally is something that is with me daily. And the impact I strive for as an educator.
Q. What advice would you give someone considering attending Fisher?
A. If you are looking for a school that challenges the status quo; If you are looking for a school that is centered on strong healthy rewarding relationships, then look no farther. You will get that and more from St. John Fisher College.
