PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College field hockey team shut out the College at Brockport by a score of 5-0 at Growney Stadium on Wednesday night. Graduate Student Meagan McDonald scored the first two goals of the night to set a new career-high for scores in a single game while senior Kelly Bergamo made three saves for her fourth shutout this season.

The win puts Fisher's record at 10-3 on the year. This is the seventh-straight season the program has earned double-digits wins. The Golden Eagles move to 8-6 overall.

After a scoreless first quarter in which the Cardinals outshot the Golden Eagles, 7-0. Fisher got on the scoreboard early in the second with McDonald tipping one in front off a pass from senior Reghan Amoroso. The Rochester native then put in her third of the season after junior Jess Snyder sent one towards the left side of the net with McDonald redirecting it into the back of the cage.

The third stanza was another scoreless one which feature Bergamo making three stellar saves to keep Brockport off the scoreboard. Then, less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, senior Lindsay Scott found Snyder from 15 yards out and the Liverpool native ripped a backhander in for the score.

The Cardinals did not let up as a few minutes later, senior Danila Casseri poked the ball passed the Brockport net minder to make it 4-0 Fisher. The final goal of the game came off the stick of junior Bre Socker who was set up by Casseri on a penalty corner. Socker slapped the ball through the Golden Eagles defense and hit the back of the cage for her conference-leading 18th goal of the season.

Scott now has 10 assists this season. Entering tonight, the Webster native was tied for seventh in the nation for assists per game. Scott also paced the Cardinals with eight shots on goal. As a team, Fisher set a new season-high with 22 shots on net in the game.
