PITTSFORD, N.Y. – In a battle of two of the New York Region's top teams, the St. John Fisher College baseball team came up on the short end as the Cardinals fell to Oswego State in a non-conference tilt at Dugan Yard.  With the loss, Fisher, which is receiving votes in the latest D3baseball.com national poll, fell to 25-11 while the Lakers improved to 22-11 on the year.

Fisher produced 12 runs in the loss with 11 different players recording at least one hit.  Stephen Edgett was 3-for-5 on the day with a double, an RBI and a run scored while Victor Konstantinovsky belted two home runs and had a sacrifice fly to go along with three RBI and a pair of runs scored.  Justin Graham had two hits in five at-bats including a double and two RBI while Peter Pinque got the start at first and went 2-for-4 with a walk.

RJ Kuruts started on the hill and went two innings as the freshman allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits with three strikeouts.  DJ Mendenhall (0-1) was tagged with the loss after yielding six runs in a third of an inning.  Matthew Raudelunas was saddled with four runs before being lifted for Ryan Felske who gave up five runs (two earned).  Jack Delaney pitched 1.2 innings before Jared Wren entered and tossed two-thirds of a frame.  Matt Toohey, Jason Wasilnak and Caleb Lee combined to throw the final 4.1 innings.

The Cardinals, who locked up the second overall seed in next week's Empire 8 Championship, will take the field again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday when they meet the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers in Rochester.
