PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College softball team hit the 30-win mark on Wednesday as the team swept The College at Brockport in a two-game series at the Fisher Softball Complex. With the win, Fisher moves to 31-5 on the season and increase its win streak to 12 straight. Brockport falls to 16-18

The day saw things scoreless until the 5th inning when
Kristina Balsano led the side off with a single. She was then moved to third after
Julia Sortisio crushed a double to left center. Two batters later
Ashley Prince hit a 3-run home run, her fourth of the year, which plated all three, and gave the Cardinals their first lead of the night.
Fisher's offense spilled into the following inning as the team doubled up with another three.
Emma Savas began the frame with a single and was immediately pushed to second as Balsano bunt singled. Sortisio then juiced the bases as she singled in the next at bat. With ducks on the pond,
Katie Mazierski sent a long foul ball to left field that was caught, but it registered as a sacrifice as all three runners advanced and Savas scored. Prince earned then earned her fourth RBI with a sac fly the other wat scoring Sortisio.
Sarah Kubik then knocked in Sortisio, to make it 6-0, with a single to center.
Lindsey Thayer earned her 19th win of the season as she hurled for 5.0 innings, striking out 12 and allowing only two hits.
Allison Uberty would take the rubber for the final 2.0 innings, only allowing a single hit and punching out one.
FISHER 10, BROCKPORT 3
The Cardinals got off to a quicker start in game two, plating one in the opening frame. Prince earned a walk with two outs and the brought up Kubik. The first basemen sent a skyball to left center that no Golden Eagle could get under dropping between three of them. Prince used her speed to clear the bags, giving the Cardinals the early, 1-0, lead.
In the third, Fisher resumed scoring as they pushed home four more. Mazierski got the ball rolling with a single and was moved home as Prince tripled in the next at bat. She was then brought home by a Kubik single. With two outs on the board,
Mary Claire Grosvenor knocked a double to center that placed her on second and Kubik on third.
Danielle Ventrone followed that with a single that knocked Kubik in. On that same play the throw to first was overthrown, allowing Grosvenor to touch the dish.
Brockport didn't stand still, tagging the Cardinals for three in the fourth to bring it to a two-run game. Fisher had an answer though in the fifth.
Prince opened up the frame with a single down the right field line and was moved to second on a wild pitch. She was brought home as Kubik doubled to left field. Grosvenor would then single and both players would move up a bag on a wild pitch in the next at bat. Those two would then score as Brockport's third basemen made an errant throw on a Savas hit.
Fisher's final two runs came in the final frame. Savas and Balsano found themselves on base after a single and a walk, respectively. Sortisio then hit a long single through the left side that scored Savas. Prince would then end her outing with a walk that sent in Balsno, earning her her 6th RBI of the day.
Monica Moses improved her record to 12-1 in the circle as she pitched 6.0 innings and struck out six. Uberty came in to close again with a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh.
Fisher will close out its regular season with a doubleheader at Utica College beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
