The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team raised its record to 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the Empire 8 Conference on Wednesday night, as the Cardinals came away with a 22-4 win over host Houghton College.
Fisher jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the opening quarter and pushed its advantage to 14-2 at the break.
In total, 12 different players scored for Fisher, led by Matt Colichia,who tallied a team-high four goals.
Nick Costello and
Tyler Mason each finished with three goals. Costello also added two assists.Â
Matthew Condon totaled two goals and one assist, while
Tyler Fort also scored twice.
Nick Rossi,
Devin Trifeletti,
Ricky Barton,
Dante Giordano and
Robert Potenzino also scored.
Scott Kershner led Fisher with three assists, while Barton, Rossi, Potenzino,
Tim Wagner and
Kevin DeOrdio each recorded an assist.
DeOrdio and
Paul Cefalu led Fisher on the day with five ground balls. The Cardinals tallied a season-high 54 ground balls for the game. Cefalu was also a perfect 12-for-12 on faceoffs.
Fisher returns to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will host SUNY Geneseo.
